Hello, I'm Emily, one of the upper strings Orchestral Tutors at Orchestras for All!
Orchestras for All (OFA) is a National Youth Music Organisation that exists to create inclusive group music-making opportunities for young people who would otherwise be excluded. Over the past 10 years, OFA has developed three innovative programmes to break down significant barriers to orchestral music making for young people in the UK. They know that music making boosts young people’s skills and enriches their lives forever. That’s why they wholeheartedly believe that orchestras are FOR ALL.
Alongside lots of teaching and music facilitation work, I've been a professional freelance viola and fiddle player for years playing in classical settings with my string quartet, and on various different festival stages as a folk musician.
I'm really excited to take part in the Grade2athon to try something different, learn something new and hopefully raise lots of money for this fantastic charity in the process!
